TURKEY: BTK Adopts Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU) Instead of Old R&TTE Directive (1999/95/EC)

Back

BTK has recently adopted Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU) to replace R&TTE Directive (1999/95/EC). With this new directive, BTK approval for devices that use non-harmonized bands is not anymore required before importation.

-Importers can get their goods imported in Turkey without BTK pre-approval.
-After goods are placed on the market, BTK Authority will ask importers to provide DOC and RED test reports which show compliance of the goods with the RED Directive.
-In case there is a restriction on putting into service or there are requirements for authorization of use, BTK Authority will also control the packaging and user manual of the product.
-Product packaging and the user manual must contain information of the countries where restrictions on putting into service or requirements for authorization of use exist. That information must be in one of the below formats or in any format provided that the pictogram and its content are visible and readable. This pictogram must also include the abbreviation of Turkey, TR.
