United Kingdom – enacts the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure (Security Requirements for Relevant Connectable Products) Regulations 2023

Back

The Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure (Security Requirements for Relevant Connectable Products) Regulations 2023 (PSTI) have been put into action by the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State. The PSTI regulation stipulates the security criteria that UK manufacturers of consumer connectable products – including importers – must adhere to and the conditions for meeting these requirements. It also contains descriptions of exempt products to which it is not currently appropriate for the regime to apply. Finally, there are provisions relating to the statement of compliance that must accompany a product, enabling businesses in the entire supply chain to prevent insecure products from being supplied to UK customers.  While it is currently in force, the regulation will only become effective on April 29, 2024.
