PAPUA NEW GUINEA: NICTA Calls for Comments Over 2600 MHz and 3500MHz Band Plans and The Spectrum Assignment and Licensing Methodology

The National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) released a public consultation to the following topics:

  • 2600 MHz band plan and Background paper: The proposal it’s related to the licensee of the frequency band 2500-2690MHz to adopt the Band 41 (all TDD) configuration, following ITU recommendations Rec. ITU-R M. 1036-5
  • 3500 MHz band plan for IMT and Background paper: The draft proposes the licensee of the frequency range 3400 – 3600 MHz for Fixed and Mobile, for High-Density Fixed and Mobile applications.
  • Spectrum Assignment & Licensing Methodology: It’s looking for comments for the concept and identification of the High Demand Spectrum (HDS)

NICTA explains that after the public consultations and WRC23 will complete the update of the National Allocation Table.

The comments on the consultations will be received until 7th June 2023 by email to consultation.spectrum@nicta.gov.pg
