NEW ZEALAND: The MBIE Released a Public Consultation for Unallocated Spectrum Between 174 – 230MHz

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) of New Zealand, published a public consultation on its website seeking comments from the industry and the public about the possible uses for the 174 – 230MHz spectrum portion (VHF Band III). The possible uses proposed by MBIE are: for the Internet of Things, digital audio broadcasting, radio microphones, NZ defense force, utilities companies, land mobile, and for public protection and disaster relief industry. However, proposals for other uses are welcome too.

The public consultation will be open until May 27th, 2016.
