MEXICO: PEC Enters into Force February 25th (Reminder)

Back

As previously issued by IFT, the new “PROCEDIMIENTO DE EVALUACIÓN DE LA CONFORMIDAD” or known as PEC issued on February 25th of 2020, enters into force after one year, meaning now on February 25th of 2021. This is important to reinforce because of the main points to be considered now:

NOM Certificates applicable for Telecom now have four different schemes:
-One Model, one-time lot;
-One Model, several lots;
-Family of Models;
-IoT device/RF module referring to the devices it will be inserted into
-NOM Certificates must be used for Import only by the Certificate Holder/Applicant (cannot be shared)
-Each Importer must obtain its own tests reports (will not be possible to leverage reports)
-Samples must be sent directly to the Certification Body of choice
-Quantity of Samples is now 2 samples per Certificate. If it is under the scheme of Family, then the Certification Body will ask 2 samples more, of other devices mentioned in the Family.

Please also remember that existing and valid Telecom Certification and Homologation will not change and will remain valid as they are.
