GULF COOPERATION COUNCIL: GSO Released the Document of the Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances

The GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), released a new document which contains the new Gulf Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances. This regulation will come into force on July 1st 2016, repealing any other gulf or national technical regulation related to safety of electrical equipment in the same scope in all the countries of the GCC (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen). The regulation follows the intention of the GCC members to unify their economies and to have common standards. Some of the products covered by the  new regulation are: socket outlets, plugs, cord extension sets and chargers and adaptors.
