On July 20th, 2023, the European Commission published a Delegated Regulation that amends the previously published Regulation (EU) 2022/30 as regards the date of application of the
essential requirements for radio equipment. This publication was made after receiving comments during the consultation period and through it, the Commission:
- Pushes the entry into force of the Essential Requirements of the Radio Equipment Directive set out in Article 3(3), points (d), (e), and (f) for August 1st, 2025.
- Introduces a rewording of Article 1(2), of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30. Where it previously said “traffic data AND location data”, now it says “traffic data OR location data”.
The rest of the text of Delegated Regulation 2022/30 and the applicability of requirements in the Radio Equipment Directive remains untouched.
