We want to inform our readers that December 20th, 2019, marks one year from the date of entry into force of the Standard IEC 62368-1, as it was informed in the EU’s Official Journal C209 of June 15 th, 2018. Standard IEC 62368-1 is a safety/HBSE (Hazard Based Safety Engineering). This standard is hazard based-performance oriented, not a risk-based standard. It was developed by IEC’s Technical Committee “TC 108: Safety of electronic equipment within the field of audio/video, information technology, and communications technology”, it was the same Technical The committee in charge of standards IEC 60065 and IEC 60950.
