On August 10th, CNCA issued a new regulation regarding the format of CCC certificates and CCC marks. This regulation is set to take effect on January 1st, 2024. The regulation introduces two significant changes:
1. Transition to Electronic CCC Certificates: CNCA will implement electronic CCC certificates as the standard. Should an applicant require a physical (hardcopy) certificate, the certification body will issue one upon request. Existing valid hardcopy certificates will naturally transition to electronic certificates through modifications and renewals. It’s essential to note that both hardcopy and electronic certificates carry equal legal validity.
2. Introduction of the Electronic CCC Mark: The new regulation allows for the use of an electronic CCC mark. This mark is applied directly to the product’s integrated screen via electronic display (provided that the product remains inoperable once the screen is disassembled). The product’s manual and accompanying documents must clearly specify the access path for the electronic CCC mark. Simultaneously, the product’s minimum packaging should display the standard specification CCC mark either through printing or molding.
Overall, this regulation signifies a shift towards electronic certificates and introduces guidelines for the use of electronic CCC marks, providing clarity on the transition process and requirements for certification.
