CHILE: SUBTEL Will Ask for a Multiband Stamp in all Mobile Devices Traded in the Country

The Chilean Secretary of Telecommunications (SUBTEL) informed, through a public notice on its website, about the implementation of a multi band stamp with the purpose to inform all the possible buyers of mobile devices, about the supported bands of the equipment. The stamp will be visible in the device box and it will inform if the equipment has the capability to operate in 2G, 3G or 4G technologies. All the mobile devices will be subject to this new regulation, which will be implemented at the beginning of 2017. The new rule has not been officially published. Entirety will inform once the regulation becomes official.
