ANATEL opened the public consultation that aims to collect information from society to support the Agency regarding the possibility of implementing an Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) system, in order to allow the use of the 5,925-7,125 MHz band, or parts thereof, by Access Points (classified as restricted radiation equipment) in an outdoor environment in Brazil.
It should be noted that observing the Regulation on Radiocommunication Equipment with Restricted Radiation, approved by Anatel Resolution No. 680/2017, and the Technical Requirements approved by Act No. 14,448/2017, the 5,925-7,125 MHz band can be used by points of access by low power or very low power equipment indoors, or by very low power equipment outdoors.
In this way, considering the fact that the radio frequency spectrum is a public and scarce asset, managed by the Agency and observing the importance of optimizing the use of radio frequency bands, it is important to collect information from the sector in order to identify the criteria and measures necessary for the use of the 5925-7125 MHz band, or parts thereof, by access points in an outdoor environment in Brazil, so that such equipment does not cause harmful interference to licensed stations operating in the same frequency band.
This public consultation is open until January 24th
