BRAZIL: Authorized Spectrum for Mobile Places Brazil Among Best in LATAM

On November 7, 2017, The Board of Directors of ANATEL issued a regulation for the allocation and conditions of use of radio frequencies for the Auxiliary Services of Broadcasting and Related Services (SARC), Repetition of Television – RpTV, Television in Closed Circuit with Radio Link Use – CCTV, Limited Aeronautical Mobile Service – SLMA and Private Limited Service – SLP.

Resolution 688 authorized spectrum in the 2300MHz-2400MHz band for mobile use, meaning that they will be occupied on a primary basis (preferably over any other telecommunications service) by SMP (personal mobile service).

With this new destination, cellular telephony now has 997 MHz of bandwidth, placing Brazil among the best placed in Latin America in frequency allocation for future generations of mobile broadband.
