BRAZIL: ANATEL Postpones Implementation of EMC Testing Requirements for Category II Devices

Back

On March 27, 2018, ANATEL of Brazil published an official communication, ACT 2311, to all OCDs and Laboratories in Brazil announcing a 3 month extension for Act No.14448, which introduced two new lab testing requirements for restricted radio communication equipment that fall within Category II devices (except modules). This extension came after a high number of OCDs, Labs, and representative industries came forward and provided suggestions and concerns about having unclear guidelines. For this reason, ANATEL’s implementation of radiated emission and RF radiated immunity testing for unlicensed transmitters will see an implementation extension to its previous deadline of April 3rd, 2018, by up to 3 months in order to publish further guidelines regarding this subject.

There currently is no exact date announced, however, 3 months from April signifies it could be implemented by July 2018.

Entirety will keep you posted as information comes in regarding this important regulatory change for testing in Brazil.
