BRAZIL: ANATEL Act 2436 – Establishes The Minimum Requirements for Cyber Security  Conformity on Customer Premises Equipment

The objective of these requirements is to establish a set of mandatory enforceable minimum cybersecurity requirements (password strength, data sharing, updates on vulnerabilities, etc.) for assessing the compliance of the following general public use CPE equipment used to connect subscribers to the Internet service provider’s network such as:

Cable modem;
Modem xDSL;
ONU, ONT;
Router or modem intended for Fixed Wireless Access;
Router or modem intended for Fixed Sattelite Access to broadband internet;
Router or Wireless Access point.

The new requirements will come into force on March 10th, 2024
