ARGENTINA: Country Welcomes WiFi 6E Technology

On May 16th, 2023, Argentina’s Minister of Economy, and the President of ENACOM (National Communications Agency), announced the full authorization of the spectrum in the 6 GHz band, from 5925 to 7125 MHz, for unrestricted use without a license.

This position from the Argentinean authority is intended to favor the knowledge economy, assist small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), and profit the digital industries that depend on reliable Wi-Fi to support current and upcoming technological advancements, such as augmented reality, gaming, the metaverse, the Internet of Things (IoT), and to complement networking capabilities together with 5G developments.

With this announcement, it’ll be important to track the possible modifications to the national standards or even the possible development of a new standard that allows testing of this type of radio interface and certify them according to ENACOM homologation procedures.
